In this blog post I write about my trip to Portugal. Spontaneously I decided to book a flight to Porto in November. I didn’t plan what I wanted to see there but I made contact with people living there before hand. So I planned two photo shoots and to catch up with local photographer.
As well I wanted to take photos of the sunrise and the famous Ponte Luis I bridge and I managed to do it all and much more. I was on my feet all day long every day from 4am in the morning. It was tiring and I don’t know how many km’s I walked but what I got to see of Porto was worth the effort. I was there only a few days but could tell about this experience like I would have spent there much more time.
The couples I met for the photo shootings were unique characters with interesting stories and for sure we keep contact and follow each others journey. Social media makes it so simple. I have a new photographer friend Maksym who showed me his favourite locations.
The food I really liked too. Tried several dishes with fish, veal, rice, potatoes and vegetables and never was disappointed. As well there are many bakeries with a big choice of baked goods.
Public transport is excellent, Metro, train and bus. On one day I took the historic tram which rides along the Douro river to the Atlantic ocean, that is so spectacular. To see the waves of the ocean rolling on the beach and crashing at the lighthouse gives chills and an incredible feeling of freedom.
